The VIV Aquatic 2025 Conference will take place in conjunction with VIV Asia 2025 in Bangkok. The conference is scheduled for March 11th, one day before the main show. The Aquatic conference supplies cutting edge knowledge and showcases opportunities that help to enhance the fish&shrimp production improving practices especially in nutrition, health and new farming technologies. 

Meet the speakers

Roger Gilbert

CEO International Aquafeed

Roger Gilbert co-founded the International Feed Industry Federation in 1987 and served as its Secretary General. Under his leadership, the federation grew to represent over 85% of global compound feed production. He played a key role in establishing the industry’s NGO representation at Codex Alimentarius and forged one of the first Memorandums of Understanding with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.

Today, Roger is the publisher of International Petfood, International Aquafeed, and Milling & Grain.

Dr Dinesh Kaippilly

Dean and Registrar, Kerala University

Dr. Dinesh Kaippilly, a recipient of the 2018 World Aquaculture Society (WAS) Fellow Award, is a renowned aquaculture expert with over 25 years of experience. As Director of the WAS Asian Pacific Chapter (2016–2018) and a longtime educator at the College of Fisheries and KUFOS, he has trained countless shrimp farmers and pioneered Vannamei and organic shrimp farming in Kerala.

With a passion for sustainability and academic excellence, Dr. Kaippilly has authored over 60 publications, including 25 journal papers and 3 books, contributing significantly to the aquaculture industry.

Dr Ram Bhujel

Research Professor | Director Aqua-Centre

Dr. Ram C. Bhujel, Research Associate Professor and Founding Director of Aqua-Centre at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), has been teaching and supervising MSc and PhD students since 2005. He earned his MSc in 1994 and PhD in 1999 from AIT, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Stirling, UK, and the University of Montpellier III, France.

Dr. Bhujel currently leads an EU-funded project to develop MSc curricula focused on sustainable seafood and nutrition security, contributing to advancements in aquaculture education and research.

Dr Manoj Sharma

Dr. Manoj Sharma, a shrimp farmer and aquaculture expert with 30 years of experience, has been instrumental in advancing shrimp farming in Gujarat, India. He played a pivotal role in uniting shrimp farmers through the Gujarat Aquaculture Association, fostering sustainable practices across the coastal region.

Recognized nationally and internationally, Dr. Sharma has received the Industry Impact Award for establishing a strong technical foundation for shrimp farming in South Gujarat, creating opportunities for rural communities and fishermen. He is also a National Fisheries Development Board awardee for his innovative contributions to aquaculture technology.

Rizky Darmawan

CEO Delta Marine Group

Rizky Darmawan, CEO of Delta Marine Group, is a leader in sustainable shrimp production, distribution, and processing. A graduate in Aquatic and Fisheries Sciences from the University of Washington, he blends education and innovation to transform the shrimp industry.

As President of Petambak Muda Indonesia since 2015, Rizky fosters young aquaculturists through education and collaboration, highlighted by the annual Shrimp Aquaculture Conference in Bali. He champions sustainability by promoting eco-friendly farming and utilizing shrimp waste for innovative applications.

Dr Romi Novriadi

Senior Lecturer Jakarta Technical University

Dr Romi Novriadi is the Senior Lecturer at the Jakarta Technical University of Fisheries or known as Politeknik Ahli Usaha Perikanan, Agency for Marine Affairs and Fisheries Research and Development, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Republic of Indonesia. Currently, Dr Romi focus on the development of intensive shrimp farming system and economical aqua-feed, evaluation of nutritional requirements for shrimp and fish as well as facilitate the evaluation of novel ingredients and feed supplemental properties to enhance the growth and health status of aquatic organisms.

Dr Clara Trullàs

Product Manager of Aquaculture Tanin Sevnica

Dr Clara Trullàs, Product Manager of Aquaculture at Tanin Sevnica, Slovenia, specializes in developing natural feed additives for fish and shrimp farming. She holds a Veterinary Medicine degree and a PhD in Animal Production from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, along with an MSc in Aquaculture from Universitat de Barcelona.

Her postdoctoral research at Chulalongkorn University (Thailand) in 2016 sparked her focus on phytobiotics and ammonia binders for aqua feeds. In her role, Dr. Trullàs collaborates with researchers, feed millers, and producers to address industry needs with innovative and sustainable solutions.
