Premi®Test, an easy to use method for antibiotics screening

Treatment of farm animals with veterinary pharmaceuticals, such as antibiotics, leads to drug residues in the tissues of the animals and establishes a health risk for the consumers of food products.

Premi®Test is an microbial antibiotic residue screening test, which allows fast and easy screening of various food products for a broad spectrum of antibiotics by all members of the food production chain. Thereby, it does not require sophisticated equipment and allows screening in less than 4 hours.

Premi®Test allows to test meat (beef, pork, poultry), fish, shrimps, eggs, liver, kidney, honey, plasma/serum, urine, and feed for the residues of β-lactams, Cephalosporines, Macrolides, Tetracyclines, Sulphonamides, Aminoglycosides, Quinolones, Amphenicoles, and Polypeptides.
The analysis of meat is an AOAC Performance Tested Methodsm and validated by AFNOR.

Premi®Test is based on the inhibition of the growth of Bacillus stearothermophilus, a thermophilic bacterium, which is very sensitive to many antibiotics.

Effectively from January 1, the R-Biopharm AG, located in Germany, took over the Premi®Test antibiotic screening test business (excluding dairy) from DSM, which will continue producing the Premi®Test in the future.

R-Biopharm AG is a leading developer of test solutions for clinical diagnostics and food & feed analysis. In both sectors, the R-Biopharm AG test kits offer high precision and accuracy, key requirements where patient and consumer health is at risk.
