In the first days of a chick’s life –the brooding period-, the animal is not able to regulate its body temperature. Practical experience learns that controlling broiler house variables, such as air temperatures, floor temperatures, air velocity and humidity levels is difficult. Non-control of these variables results in delayed start-ups of chicks, uncertainty of future growth curves and lower uniformity.
Concept HatchBrood
HatchBrood controls the crucial variables during the brooding period. After hatching, the day-old chicks are placed in the HatchBrood system. Here, chicks have access to fresh water, air and feed. They will start eating and drinking directly after placement. The HatchBrood system guarantees a controlled air temperature and air velocity, which assures optimum chick body temperatures for all chicks. After four days the chicks are transported to the farm for the remaining part of their production cycle.
100% controlled environment
HatchBrood controls the environmental aspects during the brooding period and therefore ensures optimum and uniform body temperatures of the chickens. This will result in better technical results: better growth rate, uniformity and lower mortality in a 4 day period. HatchBrood is equipped with patented perforated radiators. A directly driven ventilator forces the air through the radiators. As the air passes the radiator, it will be cooled or heated until the ideal air temperature is reached. The temperature is controlled in all 12 sections and the air is moving in perfect velocity.
Sustainable poultry farming
HatchBrood has been designed for a minimum energy usage. Compared to broiler houses, in which a high volume of m3 air has to be treated, HatchBrood is operated at a significant lower energy usage. This is an important contribution to cost efficiency but also to sustainable poultry farming due to the lower CO2 output.
Part of the HatchTech Group
In 1995, HatchTech introduced the patented concept of perforated radiators in incubation technology: the guaranteed laminar airflow resulted in optimum and uniform chick quality. HatchTech successfully applied this concept to another product: HatchTraveller, a transport systems for day-old chicks that secures chick quality during transport, also during extreme circumstances. Now, the successful HatchTech concept is applied to HatchBrood.
