A profile of Aviagen’s Bangkok office

Aviagen offer local support to customers in Asia and the team combines a wealth of poultry knowledge with the ability to communicate in local languages. Local offices in various locations around the region also ensure that communication with customers is greatly enhanced as there are no delays due to time-zone variations. Communication is therefore prompt, timely and relevant.

One of these offices is Aviagen’s Bangkok Office. The team based there are playing an increasingly pivotal role in coordinating the supply of Aviagen products and customer support throughout South East Asia. The office, located in the centre of Bangkok, was set up in June 2005 to provide customers in the region with more local and focused support.

The small but dedicated Aviagen Bangkok office team works closely with customers and helps grow Aviagen’s business throughout the region. The team are involved in all aspects of the business, providing support to customers and the wider Aviagen team in regards to sales coordination, marketing services, commercial activity and general administration. The office is also used as a base for all the technical and commercial managers who frequently travel around the region, with the team in the office providing a central point of contact.

The team based in Bangkok consists of:

Bill Souther, Senior VP Asia:
Bill has been involved in the industry for over 30 years. In 1989 he joined a US-based breeding company, responsible for International Sales and Business Development, before going on to become Vice-President for their entire international business. In 2001 he was employed by another primary breeder, where he headed up their Asian business. In 2005 Bill became part of Aviagen, first as VP China, then VP for Ross in Asia, before taking on the role of Senior VP for all of Aviagen’s Asian business in 2008. Bill is a well-known face with Aviagen’s customers and plays an important part in planning and delivering the business strategy for this growing region.

Orapan Chansawat, VP Asia – Ross:
Orapan graduated from Bournemouth University in the UK in 1998 with a Masters in International Business Studies. She then went on to start her poultry career with one of Aviagen’s customers in Thailand, Saha farms, where she spent 6 years with the company in various senior roles. In 2005 she joined Aviagen as the sales and marketing co-ordinator for the Asian region. She is now the Vice President of Asia, responsible for Aviagen’s Ross business in the region.

Saksake Pacharadit (Keng), Sales Manager:
Keng gained a BA in Business and Marketing from Rangsit University, Bangkok, and his Master of Business in Marketing from Victoria University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. Prior to joining Aviagen in 2007, he was a lecturer for the Faculty of Business Administration. Keng is well-known to many customers in the region, as he is responsible for PS sales, primarily in Bangladesh, Bhutan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand.

Jaruvipa Tantisaswat (Nikki), Business Project Manager:
Nikki is Aviagen Asia’s Business Project Manager. She manages the Bangkok office, organises events and exhibitions and coordinates marketing activity within the region. Nikki has extensive experience in PR and Marketing, having gained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Illinois at Carbondale, USA, and a BA in International Relations from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. Prior to joining Aviagen in early 2009, Nikki held various roles in Marketing and PR.

Saisunee Kongtongkai (Migail), Administration Manager:
Migail joined the Bangkok Office in March 2006 working closely with Orapan Chansawat. Migail’s voice is well-known to customers in the region, as she is often the first point of contact for them. She also has responsibilities for order processing, customer communications and working closely with her team mate and colleague Nikki on visitor and association programmes.

The office is also a base for Rafael Monleon, the veterinarian for the region:
Rafael received his Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Complutense in Madrid, Spain and graduated from the North Carolina State University, USA, with a Master of Specialised Veterinary Medicine and a Residency in poultry health management in 2006. He started his career in the poultry industry for the United Kingdom Meat Hygiene Service before working in academia in the USA and then as an international consultant in poultry health and food safety. In 2006, he joined Aviagen as the Regional Veterinarian providing customer support on the development and implementation of actions plans to improve poultry health throughout the region.
